I believe that everyone is entitled to a strong defence, no matter who the client is or what kind of charge they are facing. This is the philosophy I have carried with me since grade 10 law class when I decided I wanted to be a criminal defence lawyer.
Since high school, I have focused as much of my education as possible on the area of criminal law. I completed my undergraduate degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice at Carleton University and headed straight into law school at the University of Ottawa. During my legal studies, I worked at the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic as a student caseworker in the criminal division.
After completing my law degree (and taking a skydiving trip as a celebration!), I was very fortunate to begin articling with Sean May in 2017 and have continued to work at the firm since my call to the Bar in 2018.
Although the criminal justice system can be intimidating and confusing, I work hard to maintain strong communication with all of my clients in order to reduce some of the uncertainty and stress that understandably comes with being charged.
My approach is to always treat my clients as people, not criminals. People make mistakes and I am committed to helping each and every one of my clients navigate through their mistakes and get back on track.
